sylae:
yay
dintiradan:
Frabjous day!
BJ Earles:
Aloha.
Audrey Martel:
woooo
dintiradan:
Oh, since this is a new version, I/We probably have to change chat settings again, right?
sylae:
mine saved everything
Audrey Martel:
mine did too
BJ Earles:
I had some trouble getting here. Something about connection reseting.
Audrey Martel:
we all did
sylae:
didn't have to retype shit. which was surprising, because i updated java and it seems to have gone on some sort of spree with security settings
dintiradan:
Mine didn't, probably because I cleared the registry before running the new version. :P
GM Lilith:
just for the record, Use Smileys should be off, and Use Tooltips for Inline Rolls should be on.
GM Lilith:
i had to reset things obv, because new computer
dintiradan:
That's what I figured. I also turned off avatars.
Sarachim:
Hi everybody
dintiradan:
Regarding the log for last session: unless MapTool saves them automatically, I don't have it.
GM Lilith:
it's supposed to but apparently the logging feature has been nonfunctional for quite a few versions. whoops~
BJ Earles:
I see we have a goblin representative in the party now. I assume that's Naldy.
BJ Earles:
*Nalyd
Audrey Martel:
yup
BJ Earles:
Please tell me one of you rolled up a healer and the other rolled up a tank.
Sarachim:
I've got a healer.
BJ Earles:
yay! :)
Audrey Martel:
i have, in fact, rolled up a spellcaster that does not heal. :p
Sarachim:
I can also summon stuff.
dintiradan:
Good. Because otherwise, I'd be the party's sole healer.
dintiradan:
And none of you would want that.
Audrey Martel:
cuz that seemed to be working better for everyone than melee.
BJ Earles:
Heh. We seem to have a party of four casters and an archer now.
Sarachim:
I skipped Healing as a power in favor of Greater Healing, though, so magical healing's only for emergencies.
Sarachim:
But if anyone suffers a permanent injury, I can fix it.
Audrey Martel:
i did pick up james' boating, though, so that at least is party-minded thinking :p
dintiradan:
But ranged characters were only doing better than melee characters _because_ melee characters were holding up the front lines. :P
BJ Earles:
After this session, I don't think front lines are going to be much of an issue. :P
Sarachim:
Anyway, I'm also a glass cannon, so all the rest of you will have to block for me. :P
BJ Earles:
I have a feeling my undead are going to come in veeeery handy.
Sarachim:
Nice work on the picture, Lilith. Thanks!
Audrey Martel:
yes, mine is also very good
dintiradan:
Rooooooooooooooooooooooooookhsan!
Rokhsana:
oh fuck
Rokhsana:
why did i not see that coming
GM Lilith:
bbbb
dintiradan:
Just be glad I'm getting it out of my system now. :P
Rokhsana:
Character Sheet Button added. Roll Trait Button added. Burn Bennie Button added. Use Weapon Button added.
Audrey Martel:
hm, i don't have any powers or some of my edges
GM Lilith:
Okay, I think everyone's here and things are set up enough that we can probably get started, if we're all ready.
Sarachim:
Ready
sylae:
i'm good to go
dintiradan:
Jered being Lame was a result of being reduced to three wounds last session, right?
Jered:
gtg
BJ Earles:
Aside from really needing a recap, I think I'm ready.
Audrey Martel:
ready, steady, fighty
Jered:
^^
GM Lilith:
dint - yep, it'll heal when the wounds do
GM Lilith:
OK. Anyone remember enough to do a recap?
Jered:
For RP purposes, how exactly am I lame? A limp or something? Also, how visible is my parasite? I'd check up on the logs, but yeah...
Leila Rithorn:
(Oh, that's right. Jered is a host now)
Jered:
I'm the host with the most!
Sarachim:
We burst in on Iskania and tried to disrupt her lightning experiments. James and Kepling died in the ensuing fight, but the survivors subdued Iskania and removed her parasite, which is now in Jered.
Audrey Martel:
also, iskania gave up control of wireld to eshi
Sarachim:
She's also stepped down as ruler of Wireld, I think
Sarachim:
Then these two strangers wandered in, for some reason :P
Audrey Martel:
i have a legit rp reason to be coming along, thank you very much. :p
Sarachim:
So do I, actually :P
Jered:
(Also, just to double check, our relationship with Port Jynt after the 'jailbreak' of session 19 (?) is that they're disavowing us, right?)
Leila Rithorn:
(I think so...)
GM Lilith:
Jered - you've probably got a considerable amount of pain and swelling in your legs from the burns you incurred last session and some stiffness as they start to heal. as far as the parasite goes, hmm. i'm gonna say yours manifests as a red discolouration and change of texture over the upper half of your face, in a mask-like pattern
GM Lilith:
we haven't actually established what yours does yet, have we?
Jered:
Nope. I assumed that would come with the next level-up.
GM Lilith:
also yeah, Port Jynt hasn't exiled you or anything but they're not likely to be in a position to defend you if you get into further trouble
GM Lilith:
OK, I think that's all the pre-session business we need to take care of. Everyone ready?
Sarachim:
Ready
Jered:
(Yep.)
Leila Rithorn:
Red dye.
Audrey Martel:
Audrey Martel: hm, i don't have any powers or some of my edges
sylae:
Ready
Audrey Martel:
but if we don't need em right now, yeah i'm ready
GM Lilith:
yeah sorry, this'll probably be a talky session and Major RL Things came up last night so i decided implementing stuff on character sheets that wasn't likely to come up this session wasn't priority 1
Audrey Martel:
totes fine
GM Lilith:
Anyway, let's get started.
GM Lilith:
The morning after the successful completion of the ritual to transfer Iskania's parasite to Jered, the newly sworn-in Grand Marshal of Wireld, Eshi, calls Jered, Leila and Bekora in for an audience. A pair of other women stand in the hall in front of Grand Marshal Eshi, seemingly waiting for you: one an elderly human, the other a heavily battle-scarred goblin.
Eshi:
"Good morning, all of you. Once again, I wish to thank you personally for your service to Wireld and remind you that I am here to help in whatever way I can. As an initial gesture of goodwill, Wireld will be sending two of its most skilled mages to accompany you and render assistance in your efforts to gather information about Ammat-Xan, if you will accept their help. Do feel free to introduce yourselves, you two."
GM Lilith:
(Begin.)
Jered:
"Great. Babysitters." I mutter.
Leila Rithorn:
I look at the new arrivals skeptically.
Sarachim:
"I'm Rokhsana, and I'm not a babysitter."
Audrey Martel:
"Sheriff Martel. Well, I was a sheriff yesterday, anyways. Now, yeah, babysitter."
Jered:
I shrug at Rokhsana. "Last guy didn't think so either."
Leila Rithorn:
I nod to both of them. "I am Lady Leila Rithorn, of the city of Laerein."
Rokhsana:
"As much as I hate to contradict myself, hold still, kid." Greater Healing on Jered.
Rokhsana:
Spellcasting Roll: 6 Wild Roll: 11
Wild Die Aced!
Rokhsana:
Spellcasting Roll: 11 Wild Roll: 4
Leila Rithorn:
"So you both practice the arcane arts?"
Rokhsana:
(Not sure why that rolled twice. Just take the first one, I guess.)
GM Lilith:
(ah, i think we both rolled it at once. luckily we both rolled the same :P)
Audrey Martel:
"Not much art to it, but yeah, I do magic."
Bekora Tiquo:
"Bekora Tiquo. Nice to meet you." I growl.
Rokhsana:
"Well, I think of myself as a scholar, but. . . hold still, kid, or this won't work. . . "
GM Lilith:
As Rokhsana holds her hands over Jered's burns, his skin glows faintly and the wounds begin to fade markedly.
Jered:
"Huh. Not bad. I'm Jered, I guess."
Leila Rithorn:
I watch Rokhsana work with interest. "That ability with come in very handy, thank you."
Rokhsana:
"Nice to meet you all."
Leila Rithorn:
I turn back to Eshi. "Thank you, Grand Marshal Eshi, for the gesture. Now, we should really discuss our next move."
Eshi:
"I know that it's beyond my power or that of any mortal to replace what you have lost in these halls. But I hope Wireld's assistance is of use to you, all the same. Now, yes, let us talk about the future."
Leila Rithorn:
"The first thing we must do is contact Port Jynt and inform them of our success here. I trust you can accomplish this."
Eshi:
"Of course."
Jered:
"Are your people gonna be pissed that you're running things now?"
Leila Rithorn:
"With Port Jynt and Wireld united against Elpis, war should be far less likely. That leaves the matter of what our group should do. I've thought about this, and I believe that with all the trouble we've caused out 'patrons' that it would be wise to make ourselves scarce for a time."
Eshi:
"Most likely. Iskania's popularity has been declining in recent months, but... I am a large part of the reason for that."
Eshi:
"I am not from a wealthy or notable background. Iskania raised me up from obscurity and personally selected me to be her First Minister. Her judgement was questioned by many, to put it mildly."
Eshi:
"But that is my concern, not yours."
Eshi:
"I think Leila speaks wisdom. We have good reason to believe that the Blessed Children still have agents in Wireld, despite our efforts to expel them: it is only a matter of time before Elpis learns of your presence here, if they have not already."
Rokhsana:
"In that case, we shouldn't stay long."
Leila Rithorn:
"We've heard about an island called Lentoir that may have some connection with Ammat-Xan or the Firmament. We do not have much information to go on at this time. We only know that it lies somewhere in the southern oceans, but I believe that if we can find this island, we may find useful information there."
Eshi:
"Ah, yes. Lentoir. I've heard the name used by the Blessed Children -- a mythical island destroyed for its people's transgressions, as I understand it. I assume you believe it's more than a myth, then."
Leila Rithorn:
"Eldest Daughter seemed to believe it was real."
Rokhsana:
Knowledge (Ammat-Xan) for pertinent information about Lentoir, particularly its location:
Leila Rithorn:
(Correct me if I'm wrong, but ED was where we heard about Lentoir.)
Rokhsana:
Huh, I don't see my knowledge skills on here.
GM Lilith:
(I think it was Fearless Son, actually.)
GM Lilith:
(Religion.)
Rokhsana:
Religion Roll: 7 Wild Roll: 4
You Aced!
Jered:
(One of the cultists, anyway.)
Rokhsana:
Oh,duh. Thanks, Lilith.
Leila Rithorn:
(Heh, well, whoever we heard it from, they seemed convinced.)
Leila Rithorn:
"Whether the island is real or not, I believe it would be time well spent to try to find it."
Leila Rithorn:
(brb real quick)
Leila Rithorn:
(back)
Rokhsana:
"Ah, Lentoir. A fascinating subject. I believe I can offer some insight into its location."
Leila Rithorn:
I turn to Rokhsana. "Please illuminate."
Rokhsana:
"Comparing surviving texts to recent statements by the few Blessed Children willing to speak openly about it, it is most likely due south of Halitarn. And, for what it's worth, I agree that it's most likely real."
Rokhsana:
"Unfortunately, if we intend to seek it out, there are some problems."
Rokhsana:
"For one thing, I don't know how far away it is, but ancient geographers agree it's very far- Weli of Hiana places it 'beyond the southern stars,' for instance- and the island itself may well be totally inhospitable to life. Any expedition to find it would have to be very well-supplied."
GM Lilith:
(Is everyone else still on? Sarachim's having trouble reconnecting.)
Audrey Martel:
here
Bekora Tiquo:
(still here)
Leila Rithorn:
(Yep, I'm here.)
Jered:
(here)
GM Lilith:
(Hmm. He's gonna try rebooting.)
GM Lilith:
(Sorry about these technical difficulties.)
Bekora Tiquo:
(question: didn't we steal/buy a ship, or was that a loaner?)
GM Lilith:
(As far as I recall it's still technically Port Jynt's ship but you have the use of it for the time being.)
Bekora Tiquo:
"Well, we've got a ship, and I'm sure it wouldn't take too much to modify it for a voyage. All we'd need then is some supplies..." I glance pointedly at Eshi.
Eshi:
"Naturally. Whatever Wireld can provide for you, it will."
Leila Rithorn:
"Hm. As for provisions, I'm sure the Halitarni would be willing to give us a good deal."
Bekora Tiquo:
(:yay:)
Leila Rithorn:
(Hey again. :) )
Sarachim:
(Whew, I was scared for a bit)
Sarachim:
(What'd I miss?)
GM Lilith:
(Not much. The party's organising supplies for its voyage.)
Jered:
(Not much: Leila asking for provisions, Eshi saying sure.)
Bekora Tiquo:
"Its also a long shot, but do you know of any nautical charts of this area? Even if they're old, it's better than sailing off blind"
Sarachim:
Is Bek talking to me or Eshi?
Leila Rithorn:
(Eshi. Pretty sure.)
Bekora Tiquo:
(either, really :P)
Eshi:
"You'd most likely have better luck in Pelinora than Wireld. We don't have much use for nautical charts here, given our location. Still, we may have some in our archives."
Leila Rithorn:
"Then it would be wise to look in Pelinora.)
Leila Rithorn:
*"
Rokhsana:
"It might not be smart to go asking for favors in Pelinora. Who knows what they'll ask in return?"
Leila Rithorn:
"Does not Wireld now rule Pelinora? They should do as we ask."
Eshi:
"Pelinora does indeed have the status of a Wireldi protectorate. I can take appropriate measures to ensure their compliance with any of your requests."
Leila Rithorn:
"That would be excellent. Thank you, Grand Marshal."
Leila Rithorn:
"Well then, if that is everything, we should begin preparations for our journey."
Jered:
"It sucks that we're stuck with a boat. Y'know what would have been real good at searching for a lost island? An airship."
Eshi:
"Once again, thank you for everything you've done for m-- for Wireld. As long as I am Grand Marshal, you will always be welcome here."
Bekora Tiquo:
(too soon jered :P)
Jered:
(I didn't realize we were still _mourning_ it. :P )
Rokhsana:
"Airships! Another fascinating subject. Sadly, it is probably impractical for us to acquire one."
Leila Rithorn:
"Yes, impractical is exactly the word I'd use." I glare at Jered for a second.
Leila Rithorn:
(So, just to keep track, we're looking to modify our boat with supplies from Wireld, get stocked up on provisions in Halitarn once we reach it, and are looking for sea charts in Pelinora. Sound right to everyone else?)
Leila Rithorn:
(...sigh.)
Audrey Martel:
(Good for me)
GM Lilith:
(bbbbbb)
Jered:
(Seems to be the plan. And yes, sigh.)
Bekora Tiquo:
(seems good to me)
Leila Rithorn:
(Hey again again. You good to go?)
Sarachim:
(Yeah, I'm good)
Sarachim:
(Sorry, mi wifi sucks)
Leila Rithorn:
(No worries, nothing has happened.)
Leila Rithorn:
I think we've decided on a course of action Lilith.
GM Lilith:
Yep. Is there anything else specific anyone wants to do in Pelinora, Halitarn or anywhere else along the way, besides picking up supplies? Do you want to stop by Port Jynt at all or just head straight to Halitarn and from there to Lentoir?
Bekora Tiquo:
I don't think stopping by jynt would be ... prudent :P
Leila Rithorn:
I figure Eshi will have to send an envoy to Port Jynt anyway. We can just have them deliver a message.
Jered:
Can't think of anything we need to follow up on in any of those places, no.
Leila Rithorn:
Besides picking up my undead on the way out of Wireld, I'm good.
GM Lilith:
Okay. Sorry about this, but in that case, given the technical difficulties, are we okay wrapping up this session early?
Leila Rithorn:
Um, I guess we could.
Jered:
I'm fine with whatever.
Bekora Tiquo:
works for me i guess
Sarachim:
Sure, that's fine.
Audrey Martel:
No problem.
GM Lilith:
(Sorry, there's also the fact I'm kinda sick and didn't get much sleep last night and I don't know how much longer I can power through.)
GM Lilith:
(I didn't want to just totally call off the session after you'd waited so long for it.)
Leila Rithorn:
In that case, yeah, let's cut this short.
Sarachim:
(That's fine. I get it.)
Audrey Martel:
*internet hug*
Leila Rithorn:
At least now you know what to plan for.
GM Lilith:
(Yeah.)
Jered:
S'all good. Get better!
Bekora Tiquo:
things to do maybe
Bekora Tiquo:
thanks for the session!
Bekora Tiquo:
feel better you
GM Lilith:
You take the road back to Pelinora, accompanied by Wireldi messengers who explain the supplies and modifications needed for your vessel to local authorities. Relian accompanies you as far as Pelinora, but parts ways with you to return to Port Jynt and assist with the ritual to pacify the lava titan. Your ship stops again in Halitarn to resupply -- food is abundant on the island, and your rescue of the Wise Tree and its vicar has not been so quickly forgotten. From there, a total of two weeks after your departure from Wireld, you set off to the south, in search of the legendary cursed island of Lentoir.
GM Lilith:
End session.
GM Lilith:
Bbbb, sorry about all that.
