GM Lilith has connected. dintiradan: Welp. GM Lilith: is it okay now dintiradan: It really was just One Of Those Things. GM Lilith: nice dintiradan: yay Sarachim has connected. dintiradan: Sarachimichanga. Sarachim: Hey, Dinti GM Lilith: helo again BJ Earles has connected. Sarachim: hey BJ BJ Earles: Hey there. Audrey Martel has connected. GM Lilith: nice sylae has connected. Sarachim: woooo Audrey Martel: java is difficult Audrey Martel: hello, beautiful people sylae: hello Audrey Martel: and dinti BJ Earles: Hey, we're all here now. GM Lilith: oh wow everyone's here already and things aren't all messed up. im glad i started getting ready realy so we could resolve the Minor Technical Difficulties before the session GM Lilith: uh early BJ Earles: Minor Technical Difficulties? GM Lilith: yeah uh maptool was being obstreperous BJ Earles: Ah. Yeah, that can happen. GM Lilith: anyway quitting and restarting seems to have fixed it so that's good BJ Earles: (brb.) BJ Earles: (back.) dintiradan: (Heads up, I might need to take a ten minute break at some point during the session.) GM Lilith: ok that's fine GM Lilith: so uh at the moment everyone's here and everyone's ready and things are working. so that's good. anyone got a recap? Sarachim: Some of us killed Jarl Einar, the rest killed Ammat-Xan, now we're about to smash up the Bivrost. Audrey Martel: splitting the party was only -slightly- disastrous dintiradan: Specifically, Bekora and Leila killed Robot Jarl Einar, Jered killed Ammat-Xan, and Audrey and Rokhsana tried to kill each other. Sarachim: Oh yeah, that too! GM Lilith: yep yep that's about the size of it BJ Earles: Now we're all back on the ship deciding what to do about the Bivrost. dintiradan: I'm sure that there will be no intraparty conflict this session! GM Lilith: So, we all ready to start? Sarachim: Rdi BJ Earles: Onward. sylae: da Audrey Martel: yupyup Jered: Onwards and hopefully, eventually, downwards. BJ Earles: heh. Jered: (I wonder if we're in orbit or just magically suspended.) Audrey Martel: (i believe the structures and stuff are physically resting on the Firmament) GM Lilith: (Well, for what it's worth, gravity still more or less seems to be attempting to pull you directly toward Mote, which WOULD imply you're not in orbit, unless there's some kinda artificial gravity going on. :P) GM Lilith: (I don't think any of your characters know enough about orbital mechanics to make that distinction, though. :P) Jered: (Yeah, I thought about how we're not in freefall, but again, magic. :P Mostly, I was just wondering if finding home, let alone getting home, would be an issue.) GM Lilith: (Well, the BB does have at least some navigation features. So as long as Bekora's alive to operate it you're golden, probably.) GM Lilith: After overcoming Jarl Einar and Ammat-Xan, you're back in the relative safety of the Bivrost Breacher, drained from your recent battles but alive. You've plotted a course for Bivrost, the ancient Zeymiri device responsible for the Firmament. If you head directly there, you'll arrive within an hour. Of course, given your current state, if you anticipate resistance taking some time to rest is also an option. GM Lilith: Begin. Leila Rithorn: (Did the GM just tell us to rest? Weird.) Bekora Tiquo: (perhaps we should rest) Rokhsana: "Hey, Bek, how long can we stay alive in this thing?" Rokhsana: (resting seems wise) Audrey Martel: (i still kinda feel like resting is just asking for bivrost to be prepared for out arrival :p GM Lilith: (I'm just gently pointing out that you're kind of in no condition to fight right now, that you know it'll be at least a few days before Bivrost has recharged enough to blow up any cities, and that the Bivrost Breacher is a relatively safe and comfortable place to rest compared to any other place up here. :P) Jered: I peer out a window. "How long until that thing can shoot again?" GM Lilith: (I mean, right now Roxy literally doesn't even have enough power points to cast Environmental Protection on everyone, I don't think.) Rokhsana: (That's true, she does not.) Leila Rithorn: "Bekora said it takes a while. A day or two." Rokhsana: "In that case, I could use a nap." I look around. "Where the hell do you nap in this thing?" Leila Rithorn: "Before we go there, I believe we should talk to Jarl Einar again." Jered: "Wait, what? Didn't you kill him?" Leila Rithorn: "Yes. Fortunately, that does not mean we cannot speak with him." GM Lilith: There are some protrusions jutting out along the sides of the wing sections that seem like they could be benches or bunks, or at least could be used as such. You could lay down some bedding on them and get a reasonable night's rest. Leila Rithorn: "The trouble will be in convincing him to help us. I can contact him now that his spirit has moved on, but he will be under no conpulstion to help us." Jered: "You know what? Sure, whatever. Anyway. If anyone needs their wounds looked after, I can try patch them up. No promises." Leila Rithorn: "Bekora, is there anything specific I should ask him about? 'How to turn off the Bivrost' seems a little general to me." Bekora Tiquo: "Any details on what defenses it has, and how to bypass them, would be nice. Does he have a secret codeword or something he could shut it down with?" Rokhsana: I stretch, and wince. "I won't be back to full strength for at least a day, so there's no hurry. I guess what I mean is 'nobody wake me.'" Bekora Tiquo: "Surely a device that big needs to be shut down for repairs at __some__ point, and he'd know how to do it" Audrey Martel: "I could use your help, Jered." Jered: Healing Roll: 3 Wild Roll: 4 Jered: (Is fatigue included as well? If not, that's a success if I benny.) GM Lilith: (Fatigue on the target's side isn't included.) Jered: Alrighty then. Benny. Jered: burns a bennie ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ Healing Roll: 6 Wild Roll: 3 Jered: I'll keep that. GM Lilith: (Cool.) Audrey Martel: Audrey watched tiredly as Jered works. GM Lilith: Jered applies herbal compresses to Audrey's extensive burns and keeps them in place with bandages, easing her pain. Audrey Martel: "Thank you, Jered." Jered: "That'll help, a bit. For the rest, you'll have to stick to the old-fashioned way." Audrey Martel: "Won't be the first time." Jered: "Or get Rokhsana to heal you again when she gets up, I guess." Audrey Martel: "Probably won't." Bekora Tiquo: (how does remove fatigue, again? just rest?) Leila Rithorn: "Well, I guess now is as good a time to try as any. I just hope I remember how exactly this works." GM Lilith: (Yeah, in general you recover a level of fatigue per day as long as the source of fatigue is removed.) Audrey Martel: Audrey slowly clumps over to a maybe-bunk and sits down heavily. Leila Rithorn: I start the ritual to contact the spirit of Jarl Einar. Leila Rithorn: Leila Rithorn casts GraveSpeak Spellcasting Roll: 2 Wild Roll: 4 With the following effect: Using a piece of a corpse or personal item, summon a departed spirit to answer questions GM Lilith: (I forget, did Bekora take a piece of Jarl Einar's robot body for this purpose? Well, let's say she did. It's the sort of thing she'd do. :P) Rokhsana: (You remember this guy wasn't crazy about helping us *before* we betrayed and assassinated him, right? :P) Bekora Tiquo: (I was going to ask if any spare Pet carcasees were brought back, and if I could Repair them :P) Leila Rithorn: (Don't really need one. The spell discription says something different.) Bekora Tiquo: (we also kicked his ass in battle. bitch's honor-bound to serve us now) Jered: (Naw, he's in Valhalla now, _literally_ shiny and chrome.) GM Lilith: (i looked through your character PM thread and can't actually find where we discussed the particulars of grave speak so i'll take your word for it) Leila Rithorn: (It's pretty much word for word from the horror companion.) Former Jarl Einar: Leila recites an incantation and calls out Jarl Einar's name. The inside of the Bivrost Breacher darkens slightly, a hazy distortion appears in the air in front of her, and a commanding voice echoes through the vessel. "Why do you call me here, you who crawl upon the earth?" Rokhsana: "Hey! Keep it down in there!" GM Lilith: (So, if I'm reading correctly, you basically get 3 questions plus 1 per extra power point you spend. Considering you're the only party member who has a significant amount of PP left, that shouldn't be a big problem. :P) Leila Rithorn: "We ask that you help us, Jarl Einar. The Bivrost remains a threat to our world. We will not return until it ceases to be so, and ss long as we are up here, we remain a threat to the world you built. We want nothing more than to ensure the safety of our world and be on our way. So, I ask you, is there a way to disarm the Bivrost?" Leila Rithorn: (Yeah, pretty much.) Former Jarl Einar: The voice sounds faintly amused. "There is." Leila Rithorn: "How do we disarm the Bivrost?" Audrey Martel: (i wonder if mind reading would work on ghost :P) Audrey Martel: (i'll guess no) Audrey Martel: (don't have enough power points anyways) Jered: (It worked on the Administrator. You just need to get the same roll. :P ) Leila Rithorn: (If I could transfer power points to you I would.) Former Jarl Einar: "You could, of course, simply destroy it. I do not recommend trying -- it was built to withstand the weapons of my time and destroy all threats to it. Though I must admit you have demonstrated a certain raw talent for murder, I would not rate your chances well. If you truly wish to ensure the safety of your people, why not replace me as Bivrost's controller? You are an elf of considerable power and intelligence: that you have achieved as much as you have proves this. Now that I have fallen by your hand, perhaps Bivrost and the people of Hyperborea could be convinced to accept you as a leader." Audrey Martel: (i only need one more. we could just wait :p) Leila Rithorn: (...There's a twist I didn't expect.) Leila Rithorn: "Are you... That is an... interesting offer. I will consider it. Now, without a controller, what will the Bivrost do if left to its own devices?" TheRealSarachim has connected. Leila Rithorn: (Sarachim, your evil twin just showed up.) TheRealSarachim: (Ignore the other Sarachim. He is an impostor.) Sarachim is disconnected. Sarachim is disconnected. Rokhsana: (What happened after Bek asked about mind reading a ghost?)
